US CA: Column: High On Romney

May 10, 2012

Sacramento News & Review, 10 May 2012 - Will Cannabis Advocates Cast a Protest Vote? Patients, dispensary owners and pretty much anyone else who regularly turns to medical marijuana seems to feel burned by President Barack Obama. Their beef? Obama stated during his presidential campaign four years ago that he'd more or less take a hands-off approach to regulating medical cannabis in states where it was legal.

US CA: PUB LTE: Closing the Marijuana Clinics: Another Sad

May 9, 2012

The Times-Herald, 09 May 2012 - The closing of the marijuana clinics will be another of those unbelievable Vallejo stories: The town turned down a Walmart because it wasn't classy enough for the city. It closed down the only grocery store downtown, with a condition that it never open again, resulting in no grocery store for the thousands of people downtown (the city planners turned the site into a church).

US CA: PUB LTE: Making Case For Marijuana

May 8, 2012

Santa Maria Times, 08 May 2012 - Everyone knows marijuana is illegal, but the reasons why it is illegal seem to be vague. One of the main arguments is that it is addictive. An online study shows that marijuana is about 4 percent addictive compared to alcohol at 11 percent, and tobacco, 21 percent, which are both legal.

US CA: PUB LTE: Cut Out Drug Companies

May 8, 2012

San Bernardino Sun, 08 May 2012 - I have to disagree with the April 29 letter writer's position that medical cannabis should be purchased only with a legal prescription, as other medicines are. (Re: "Control marijuana.") This viewpoint only serves to provide profit to the big drug companies.

It ended with an ordeal behind bars. The Drug Enforcement Administration apologized Wednesday to Chong, who was accidentally left in a holding cell for five days and reportedly drank his own urine to survive.

US CA: Column: Another Use For The Union? When You’re Done

May 3, 2012

The Union, 01 May 2012 - If it wasn't for William Randolph Hearst, you could probably smoke The Union by now. "The Union. Established in 1864," the banner would read. "Read It. Smoke It." The benefits of smoking The Union would probably depend on the level of THC (the part that makes you high) included in the hemp fiber, but I'm fairly certain it would make you forget whatever bad news the pages of the morning included.
